Motivation: I have been blessed with some great running buddies. We've been through a lot together, and we are so proud of our accomplishments. We are also thankful that we can travel all over the country (and other countries) in the pursuit of conquering 26.2 miles together. Each marathon is 26.2. miles, yet a distinctly different experience awaits each time. We treasure each race medal as it symbolizes our hard earned effort and another unique experience - and sometimes some pretty heavy bling! Each Christmas I wanted to show my running buddies how much they meant to me and what great times we've shared. I had a difficult time finding exactly what I wanted so I just started making my own designs. It started with a running bank (that I dubbed our 401K) since we enjoy finding money along our routes..nothing to brag about. My ideas then progressed to the "Run the US" maps then onto the medal displays. Our awesome collection of medals were hanging in closets or any open space and they didn't deserve to be in hiding. It was time for the medals to "come out of the closet" so to speak! HeavyMedalz was born out of a passion for running and the celebration of great friendships.
